“The real issue of the Christian faith is not whether we worship in a traditional or radically different way but whether we worship God with commitment and passion that opens our lives to His power to change and renew us. Knowing Him is neither traditional or modern-but it is essential. Why does it have to be one or the other? They’re both doing immensely valuable work, and different people are encountering God in each service.” -Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury.

Our Worship Services

Church of the Outer Banks is a unique church that brings together the best of church tradition with a contemporary worship experience that connects with people’s hearts and minds. On Sunday mornings you will find a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and a unique worship experience. Wherever you are on your journey, we invite you to come and explore the Christian faith with us at one of our two worship services.

Holy Week is the time of preparation that take place just prior to Easter, beginning on Palm Sunday. It is a beautiful and poignant time for Christians of all ages to contemplate, pray, and prepare for the celebration of Easter! This year Church of the Outer Banks will have three special services during Holy Week.

On Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30 we will have a Family Holy Week Worship service for the entire Church Family! We invite all people, from the youngest to the oldest to worship with us at the Gathering Space in our new Ministry Hub (2910 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head, NC). We will be talking about Christ washing his disciples’ feet, and his call for us to humbly serve each other. We will conclude this special service by washing one anothers hands as a tender and visual lesson of being Christ’s humble servant.

On Good Friday, April 19th, we will have 2 special services. At 12:00 we will walk through the Stations of the Cross, praying and remembering the various events of the day of Christ’s death. At 6:30 we will have a time of worship, singing, prayer, and quiet devotion. Concluding the service, the Gathering Space and prayer room will remain open Friday night until midnight for prayer and personal devotion.

All are welcome to join us for a CELEBRATION OF THE RESURRECTION on Easter Sunday morning, April 21st, at 10:10am, at the YMCA in Nags Head (3000 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head, NC 27959)
