Church OBX Kids
We offer Kids’ Church for preschoolers to 5th Grade. Kids will be dismissed just before the sermon and will return to their parents during communion. For more information, contact Joana Houff at jhouff.churchobx@gmail.com
Church of the Outer Banks puts a very high priority on loving our children. We believe that our children are among the greatest of blessings. We live this out in many ways, including equipping parents by showing them what it looks like to be God honoring, Biblical leaders of their families. Our goal is to create and maintain a warm and dynamic atmosphere in which we point our kids to the truths of Jesus. Our children’s ministry aims to partner with you as parents in the spiritual development of your children.

Sunday Mornings
Check-In
When you walk through the doors at the YMCA you will be greeted warmly by our Welcome Team. Just down the hall will be a Check-In Station where someone can help you get your child signed up for the morning.
Once you have checked in, your child can join you for the first part of our worship service. We will dismiss all children to nursery and their OBX Kids classes at our Take 3 break!
Nursery
Babies and toddlers 3 months of age to 3 years of age. Toddlers should stay in this class until they are attending preschool or another organized class outside of church.
OBX Kids (Pre-K – 5th grade)
All of our kids will gather together for the first 10 minutes to sing, watch a video, and have a little bit of fun! The teachers will then take the different grade levels to their classrooms for small group break out times. In their small groups, kids will discuss what they saw in the video and pray for one another. Classes are dismissed back to the worship service in time for kids to celebrate Communion with their families!
